AMS a leader in the prediction, control and treatment of trace metals, introduces a “Micro-Piloting” program for its novel intelligent SafeGuard™ H2O trace metal remediation system. Municipal water systems or industrial facilities looking for new treatment options to remove hexavalent chromium, ionic mercury, and selenium contamination can use the Micro-Piloting program to deploy and assess demonstrations of the SafeGuard H2O technology far more quickly and for a cost that is a fraction of traditional technology demonstration pilots.

AMS announced the pilot demonstration of its SafeGuard™ H2O HexavalentChromium [Cr (VI)] remediation system at California’s Hidden Valley Lake Community Services District. Real-time data on the system’s performance will be streamed live, providing transparency of the pilot study and treatment efficacy of the technology.

SafeGuard™ H2O is an intelligent water system that has been developed to help drive down the costs of improving the quality of US water supplies by providing an accurate and affordable Cr(VI) remediation system. AMS presented “Novel Hexavalent Chromium Remediation System with Online Chromium Monitoring System Demonstrated at California Utility” at the CA/NV AWWA Fall Conference 2018; detailing how utilities now have an easy to operate, economical and reliable Cr(VI) remediation system available to meet their treatment needs.

For trace metal contamination found at legacy mines, AMS offers a novel online water quality analyzer for accurate and reliable data on As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hg, Se, Ni, Hg, V, Zn and more. The system features a self-calibrating and autonomous sensor, making it ideal for installation in remote, inaccessible locations.

The patent-pending SafeGuard H2O™ is an innovative approach to providing an economical and reliable treatment for small and large water systems affected by contamination from Cr(VI), a known carcinogen. SafeGuard H2O is an affordable, accurate and intelligent Cr(VI) treatment system that generates a stannous ion reagent in-situ via an electrolytic process. The system also features an online Cr(VI) analyzer to measure system performance in real time.

The semiconductor industry has found that traditional analytical methods for complexed copper in wastewater are not fit for purpose. Complexed copper cannot be measured using ion-selective electrodes and colorimetry technology faces a number of severe challenges. Faced with the challenges of colorimetry, Samsung Austin Semiconductors (SAS) evaluated the MetalGuard™ analyzer for its potential to significantly improve safety and quality of measurements for copper wastewater streams.

Intelligent water treatment systems incorporate real-time sensing to ensure that their performance is optimized to avoid under- or over-treatment and that any deterioration in system performance is signaled to permit timely remedial intervention.
