In December 2022, the State of California published its long-awaited recommendation for a regulatory limit for hexavalent chromium (Cr6) in water of 10 ppb. According to the California State Water Resources Control Board, there are more than 2,600 community systems with elevated Cr6 levels serving nearly 13 million people. In this episode of AMS Talks, Rick Bacon, CEO of AMS, speaks with Joshua Webster, water treatment operator for California American Water about the demonstration of SafeGuardH2O arsenic removal technology at the Isleton Water System. The demonstration at Isleton showed the effectiveness of SafeGuard™ H2O to mitigate total arsenic contamination in drinking water below 10 ppb, and its ability to deliver an affordable and reliable fully automated treatment process that does not require the use of bulk chemicals like conventional treatment approaches (e.g., coagulation/filtration).
