SafeGuard™ H2O Advanced Intelligent Water Treatment Systems
The SafeGuard™ H2O in-situ reagent generation technology offers an economical, reliable remediation system proven to remove a wide range of heavy metals and nutrients from water and wastewater as well as inhibit lead, copper and iron corrosion in water transport systems. The process is simple, effective and carbon neutral.
SafeGuard™ H2O is an advanced on-site, on-demand, automated non-toxic reagent generation system that is advancing the treatment of inorganic and trace metal contaminants and supporting carbon reduction targets by replacing the need to deliver and handle toxic bulk chemicals to treatment plants. On-site reagent generation is an affordable, non-hazardous and environmentally sustainable solution — providing a 60% cost savings and a rapid return on investment.
SafeGuard™ H2O features a compact modular design that easily integrates into existing infrastructure and low power consumption to support carbon reduction goals. SafeGuard™ H2O can be powered by renewable energy sources, and the reagents can be stored safely to enable electricity load balancing by end-users.
This advanced intelligent remediation system incorporates proprietary continuous, real-time monitoring of contaminant levels at the influent and effluent to ensure optimal treatment and compliance with regulatory and operational targets 24/7/365. The in-situ system can be fully controlled, monitored and optimized remotely; the presence of onsite staffing and supervision personnel is minimized.

Southsea STS, a U.K.-based technical services company specializing in water quality, has a history of embracing and implementing new technologies and ideas to support compliance and control in buildings. Recently, Southsea has been evaluating new technologies for corrosion management as part of a pilot program with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) in the UK. Richard Lawson, Director for Southsea STS, gives a behind the scenes look of the pilot project on the use of AMS’ SafeGuard™ H2O stannous generator to provide corrosion inhibition water treatment for closed-loop heating and cooling systems. Current corrosion inhibitors are relatively expensive, potentially toxic to handle, and can have difficulty meeting requirements imposed for disposal. The SafeGuard™ H2O stannous-based solution can help organizations better manage corrosion and ensure compliance.
View ResourceTechnology Overview- Effective Management of Corrosion and Biofilm in Cooling and Heating Systems with SafeGuard™ H2O
Many industries, hospitals, institutions, and buildings are faced with the inevitable task of managing corrosion and biofilm in their cooling and heating systems. With the SafeGuard™ H2O intelligent corrosion management system these facilities can extend their useful life, reduce maintenance expenditures and foster sustainability. SafeGuard H2O is an innovative electrochemical water treatment solution developed by AMS. A non-toxic and environmentally safe stannous reagent is generated on-site using only tin and electricity and is delivered in a tightly controlled dose. This all-in-one reagent acts as both a biocide and a corrosion inhibitor. The fully integrated and online SafeGuard H2O treatment approach eliminates the pitfalls of conventional corrosion and biofilm management systems and aids in the delivery of an affordable and reliable process.

In the fight to keep water safe and affordable, there is only one technology for the job! SafeGuard™ H2O is a fully automated, on-demand, in-situ generator of stannous (reducing agent) and tin dioxide (adsorbent), coupled with online monitoring capability. SafeGuard H2O removes As, Cr(VI), Cu, Fe, Pb, and Mn from drinking water and As, Cr(VI), Hg & Se from wastewater; acts as corrosion inhibitor for lead pipes and cooling systems; adsorbs SO2, H2S from industrial emissions. Tin and electricity are the only consumables. There are no similar technologies to SafeGuard H2O that integrate a low life-time cost contaminant treatment system with real-time performance controls. With SafeGuard H2O, contaminants have met their match!
