AMS Delivers an Affordable Treatment Solution for Hexavalent Chromium Removal in California

Hexavalent chromium (Cr6) in drinking water is a controversial topic in California. More than 20 years after the film Erin Brockovich was released raising public awareness and concern about Cr6, high levels of the contaminant continue to pose a threat to the health of thousands of consumers. To meet the need for an affordable treatment system that eliminates Cr6 from drinking water supplies and removes the barrier to a lower regulatory limit for this carcinogen, AMS developed SafeGuard™ H2O. The technology ensures a safe and affordable treatment approach to meet the Cr6 public health goal of 0.02 ppb while saving California taxpayers millions of dollars. During a pilot demonstration at the City of Los Banos, Calif., AMS’ SafeGuard H2O Cr6 treatment system proved to reduce Cr6 to non-detect levels at an annual cost per household in small communities of less than $5 per day.

AMS Brings a Proven and Affordable Hexavalent Chromium Treatment Solution to California’s Food Processing Industry

The state of California has a long history managing Cr(VI) in its drinking water and has been working to reestablish a standard by reevaluating the health information, as well as technologies that can provide effective treatment at lower costs. To address the lack of an effective and economically viable treatment solution for big cities, small communities, and industries, AMS has developed a low-cost Cr(VI) remediation system that removes this carcinogen to non-detectable levels at a fraction of the cost of traditional treatment systems.

City of Los Banos, Calif., Pilots Aqua Metrology Systems’ SafeGuard™ H2O Chromium Remediation System

AMS announces the pilot demonstration of its SafeGuard™ H2O Hexavalent Chromium [Cr (VI)] remediation system at the City of Los Banos, Calif. The pilot is being conducted in one of the city’s wells which has elevated Cr(VI) levels of 40 ppb and extremely challenging water quality due to the presence of uranium, high conductivity and hardness.

AMS Delivers Real-Time Water Quality Data and Remediation Solutions to California Utilities

A study released by the Environmental Working Group (EWG), found that a mix of pollutants in California drinking water could cause an estimated 15,500 additional cases of cancer over the course of a lifetime. While concerns about water quality and safety continue to grow, it is important to note that a number of California utilities are already implementing real-time, online monitoring to determine the presence of water-borne contaminants of concern and ensure drinking water safety at all times. AMS is helping these utilities to not only identify THM and trace metal contaminant threats, but also to diagnose critical treatment system performance once a solution has been put in place.

AMS’ Introduces ‘Micro-Piloting’ for SafeGuard™ H2O Trace Metal Remediation System to Reduce Costs and Deployment Time of Pilots

AMS a leader in the prediction, control and treatment of trace metals, introduces a “Micro-Piloting” program for its novel intelligent SafeGuard™ H2O trace metal remediation system. Municipal water systems or industrial facilities looking for new treatment options to remove hexavalent chromium, ionic mercury, and selenium contamination can use the Micro-Piloting program to deploy and assess demonstrations of the SafeGuard H2O technology far more quickly and for a cost that is a fraction of traditional technology demonstration pilots.

Samsung Austin Semiconductor Improves Safety and Quality of Measurements for Copper Wastewater Streams with MetalGuard™ Analyzer

The semiconductor industry has found that traditional analytical methods for complexed copper in wastewater are not fit for purpose. Complexed copper cannot be measured using ion-selective electrodes and colorimetry technology faces a number of severe challenges. Faced with the challenges of colorimetry, Samsung Austin Semiconductors (SAS) evaluated the MetalGuard™ analyzer for its potential to significantly improve safety and quality of measurements for copper wastewater streams.
